There are no known harmful interactions between biotin and collagen. In fact, they are frequently taken together in 'hair, skin, and nails' supplements because they work in different ways to support the body's connective tissues.
Why this happens
Biotin is a B-vitamin (B7) that helps the body convert nutrients into energy and supports the production of keratin. Collagen is a structural protein that provides the 'building blocks' for skin and joints. They do not interfere with each other's absorption, metabolism, or excretion.
What you should do
It is safe to take these together. However, be aware that high doses of biotin can interfere with certain medical blood tests (such as thyroid or heart enzyme tests). If you are due to have a blood test, tell your doctor or the lab staff that you are taking a biotin supplement.
Important precautions
Blood test interference
Biotin can significantly interfere with laboratory blood tests, including thyroid function and heart attack markers (troponin), leading to dangerously incorrect results. You must stop taking biotin at least 48 to 72 hours before any blood tests and inform your doctor you have been taking it.
Food and drink warnings
Raw egg whites
Consuming large amounts of raw egg whites over a long period can prevent your body from absorbing biotin. This is because raw egg whites contain a protein called avidin that binds to biotin. Cooked eggs do not cause this issue.

Can I take Mounjaro and Paracetamol together?
Mounjaro may slow down how quickly your body absorbs paracetamol. This means it might take longer for the paracetamol to start working to relieve pain or reduce a fever. However, the total amount of medicine that gets into your system should remain the same.

Can I take Mounjaro and Metformin together?
When taken together, Mounjaro and Metformin can increase the risk of your blood sugar levels dropping too low (hypoglycaemia). While both drugs work to lower blood sugar, they do so in different ways, which can sometimes lead to an additive effect. Additionally, Mounjaro slows down how quickly your stomach empties, which might slightly change how your body absorbs Metformin, though this is usually not a major concern.
